SWR Super Redhead gain/master volume

Run the gain as high as possible without clipping. This will give you the best signal to noise ratio. Adjust the master volume to whatever the gig requires. The Super Redhead is not really going to give you the kind of pleasant preamp distortion you probably hear in your head, especially through that Foster horn. In my experience it's best to run the amp clean and use a pedal for your fuzzy needs...or go the extra mile and put an SWR Interstellar Overdrive in the empty rack space. =)
