I am looking to get an SWR Triad. I have read some reviews on it and they sound good. I want to hear from some people who have played it or own one. What do you think of that cab???

Heavy cab. Great lows. The 15 really puts out some nice bass. Can cut well but not as punchy as a 4x10. Nice tweeter with good control. I have used mine on countless gigs and it has never let me down... especially now that I am running it with a Markbass LM2. I just can't get over the weight.
My buddy has one. I like it. As stated before, great lows, and good coverage of the spectrum.
Definitely a neat idea for a cab. He runs it with an SWR 400, and gets some really nice sound from it with his 5-string. Smooth sounding cab with good low and high on tap.
What I don't like: size - he's got some big casters on it which make it the same size as my Eden 410XLT (which has casters too); an (almost) lack of punch - it seems to be be missing some of that middle oomph and cut that he and I have gotten used to hearing with various 2x10's and 4x10's.

Nice smooth sound, but heavy and big, and not particularly loud or punchy given its size.
Just an idea, but the old Bergantino HT322 (2x10, 112, horn) has a similar vibe and just kills if you are looking for that more 'flat studio hi fi' sort of thing. It's a big, heavy horse also, but it will BURY the Triad. There's always one or two for sale in the 'for sale' section of the site.
The HT322 takes some power to really cook, but it's kind of a better execution of the Triad idea to me. The HT322 is also 'not punchy', but it handles so much power that you can muscle that wide, pure hi fi tone through almost any mix with enough power.
Just IMO there... the Triad is nice for a pure tone at moderate volumes.

the weight is a deal breaker for me on those.
they sound ok, but it's an old design now.
the dr bass 1580 neo is a better execution of it, and low down sound has done several 15" based three ways as well.

+1.. LDS has some similar designs that are lighter, louder, and similarly wide, smooth and clean.
Or, may I recommend an EBS 311 or 611. Another three way that weighs a ton, but sounds very good.
Very nice tweeter, and I find the overall sound punchy and clear and takes eq very well.
The show up used in the $350 range.

- Heavy? Yes, but manageable, imo.
- Sounds good? Yes, smooth and clean.
- Quiet compared to other cabs? A little for the rating, but never a deal breaker for me.
- Cheap used? Hells yes! Deals to be had!
