Seriously, EBMM needs to get over themselves and allow some cheaper options here in the US.

so, now that I know SX basses are available only at Rondo, in America at least, I'm wanting an all black p bass with a maple board. So, does anyone know if there are replacement pickgaurds for their basses or any fender type pickgaurds which would fit?

There are at least a couple of ways to skin that cat

1. SX basses are similar enough to the Fenders that they pay homage to that just about any replacement guard can work, but you may need to reshape the neck pocket (dremel is your frien, no modder should be without one), and will likely have to drill, and in some cases (where the old and new holes would overlap) refilling before redrilling some mounting holes.

2. Buy 2 basses and swap parts. Yeah, it costs more up front, but depending on how much swapping you do, can be the easiest and cheapest in the long run. Also, if you don't sell it you have a backup.

Nothing wrong with the stock p/u's. They sound very much like a stock mid/late 70's Fender P. Unless you specificly want something different, I wouldn't change the stockies, as they are pretty good sounding.

I modded the CRAP out of mine.... And kept the stock pickups.
