Well, the replacement Graph Tech Trem-Nut was put on yesterday. Unfortunately, I broke the Tusq nut removing it. Bummer!

I just got an e-mail from Pickguardian... The guard was sent out yesterday. It should be here soon! :hyper:

And last but not least. I did order a battery box for it. GuitarPartsResource part #EP 0929-023. This will be the last little bit of trickery added. I'm DONE after this! :)

I got the pickguard back today from pickguardian.com. The modifications are (for the most part) EXCELLENT, as is the material of the guard itself. Unfortunately, it is going to need to need some fine-tuning to fit. As of now, the neck pocket joint is off, and the pickup route is too small to fit the pickup. Other than that, it tentatively looks great. I can't bitch, as I had him modify the original, and I'm not sure how great my tracings were. His screw-ups are probably in fact MY screw-ups!!!

Don't get me wrong, the job is EXCELLENT, but his measurements are off a tad bit! It will be addressed tomorrow, as I'm off tonight, and tangled-drunk!

As promised, no new pics until the battery box is installed and the entire bass is DONE!!!!

You can. I drilled and doweled the holes with small dowels, sanded perfectly flat and took the whole sheen off the neck. Then I covered the dowels with clear nail polish, waited a day, and light-gauge sanded the neck some more to even everything up, then used 0000 steel wool for a finishing tough. You can still see the where the holes were (the Ultralite plate doesn't cover 'em), but you've gotta look to notice them. :)

If you look close at the pic of the back of the neck, you can notice the E-string dowel.

It did. No mods necessary. The battery leads are very short though. If you are going to have the battery in the control cavity somewhere, you'll need to extend the leads. Other than that, simplicity at it's finest. :)

I really like it alot. It looks really snazzy. I dont really care too much for the tuners though.... too triangular... they remind me of Doritos. But hey, diff'rent strokes.

I still haven't strung it or done a thorough setup. There's old flats on it now. I'm waiting until all the work is done first. Basically, all I have to do is route for the battery box and wire it, then it will be fully set up and I'll be able to say for sure. I know, adding the Audere, the tone seriously came alive. Tentatively, it sounds KILLER (despite the high action, poor intonation, etc :p)

Thanks! Yeah, I went back and forth with the tuners for a little while before I decided on those. Part of me wanted to keep the Fender look with the Ultralite clovers, but another part of me digs the ones on their now. I'm still not sure if I made the right call. :hmm:
