By moving the bridge back (which I think was a great idea!) you also moved both pickups toward the neck a bit. Did that have much affect on tone? My guess is that it would make the bridge pickup a bit mellower, and the neck pickup a bit deeper.

It probably didn't, he only moved it back to intonate correctly, the saddles should be where they are now anyway, and as far as I can tell, its just the B thats much further back.

He moved the bride back, but the saddles stayed, if ya feel me.

Darkstrike is right, except that I did move the B string saddle back along with the bridge. So, its about 10mm farther back. My B is now a little less muddy, but thats about it for tone change

It started as a rant in my mind, but then it changed. And I never thought to change the thread title. I meant to rant about how my SX sounds more awesome than my other bass and it cost like 40 bucks less, and how Im makeing it look awesome and the price is still cheepish at 400 total for the bass/mods/shipping.

Fraid not, I since decided to pull that bridge off, add a Kahler Trem, new pickups, and re-string it in standard.
