what do you think of painting the bridge black, and leaving the edge of it chrome, then using black saddes with chrome height adjustment screws?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I played it for the first time with the praise band this morning, this rocks! Huge fat tbird sound, i think it was louder. But I would have to do an AB comparison. Now time to save up for the tuners and bridge. Anyone have any they want to sell to me?

I have been thinking of something like that with the SX 5er Jazz, mebbe with an MM style PU set and coil tap switch.

Very pro job with the mods.

I have thought about the MM type pickups but most of the Stingray basses I have played on or heard had a very high midrange peak and very little bottom end. Thus the reason I went with the Tbird pickups. When I put the Badass bridge on there I had relearn where the sweet spot is when playing. It shifted it about 2 inches. Putting it right between both pickups, where it used to be right over the bridge pickup.

That's exactly why I don't use basses with single coils most of the time.

I don't know.... Geddy, Les, Tim Commerford, etc, etc, etc seem to have no trouble cutting thru while using Jazz basses with single coils in their 3 piece bands. I bring this up because I'm planning on getting a Lakland JO5 and I'm in a 3 piece band. Now, I usually play my 55-94 w/ MM/J pups or my Dingwalls w/ essentially passive J style pups. So, I think it's more an EQing issue (finding your spot in the mix) then pups. Opinions???

BTW, nice mod job!! Can't wait to see pics w/ the pg on. Have you considered motorcycle stickers for your flames....the selection for bikers is endless, and easy to get.
