I just got an SX SJB 57 3/4 from Rondomusic.com and was planning on modding it. I was wondering what people who own SX short scales have done as far as modding their basses. Pictures please.

Search for "Essex." There's a ton of threads on this topic. There's even an SX megathread.
Hey, looks great!
Rondo doesnt seem to currently have ss p basses on their website. Where did you get yours? I got one (my previous one is pictured above) but the body is much more orange than red.

Lindy Fralin PUPs on two of my SX short scale jazz basses.
Flatwounds on one and roundwounds on the other.
Oh they sound so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!!!!![]()
Bumping this thread. I'm considering the Link Removed as an inexpensive short scale for musical pit work.
I've read in the megathread and elsewhere about the LTD improvements. I'm trying to decide if I want to get one of the $109 basic SS basses, suchas the Link Removed and mod it myself as needed, or pop the extra $60 for SX's improvements.
Any thoughts from LTD SS owners? Are the LTD improvements good enough to go with without modding?
