SX Ursa 1

I'm surprised it was Fender raising hell. I mean the "hooked" headstock looked like so many others that I expected one of those to be the ones complaining. But then Fender is the Elephant in the room. Moses necks had a hooked headstock similar to SX but I see now they've got a license from Fender to produce actual Fender shaped headstocks. So I guess that means that Fender looks the other way on the "hooked" ones.

Yeah. It's obviously all about money.

I actually read somewhere that it was Lakland... there's a previous thread and someone said there that Fender gave Lakland pressure a while back so they flattened out the bottem a bit to make it look different, so Lakland decided it was their turn? Not sure. I can find the post if you'd like me to.

I've already got one of the Silver 'n Maple Ps on the way. Probably gonna just make the headstock look like a telebass. Those have always had a high place in terms of look in my opinion.

Me too. Mine is due to arrive middle of next week. I'm not THAT bothered by the new headstock. Not sure how many MORE I'll get (if any), but I'm in for one, at least...

I AM pleased with the new headstock.
And I was also with the fishfin headstock and the first headstock of them.

I mean....well, what can you moan about that instruments by paying THAT low price ????

But, ok, it`s everone`s own taste. No discussion about it! :D

As I said, I like `em all.
Just ordered a P-Bass from Kurt. With the new headstock.
My second SX, first is a VPB-62 from Spain with the fishtail headstock.
That one easily knocks out a Fender. Did some modifications on it.:bassist::bassist:

Quit crying about the new headstock, guys - it is what it is. I can't believe you're willing to spend money on a new neck that probably requires some alteration to fit when 20 minutes with a saw and sandpaper can easily fix the headstock.

I'd probably sand it down and make it a 3+1 headstock like MM or maybe a Parker-style headstock.

I guess people have different tastes, but for the price I really don't get bothered about things like the headstock. If it were something more high end I could understand, but tomake such a big deal over a headstock seems silly to me. Oh well, as long as everyone is happy, then I'm happy! :D

Hi folks,

I just recieved a 3MN3TS at the weekend.

What can I say?
It`s just another example of an extraordinary piece of deep tone wood for an awesome low cost.

The bassguitar is really really good. Very good color work, 1st class neck and it was nearly ready adjusted to play (guess that was Kurt....THANKS for that).

The only thing is....well, I think that the sx pu`s are not the same qualitiy like they were when I bought my first SX in Spain.
But....I don`t mind at all as I immediately installed a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder split coil to the neck position....the bridge pu will follow soon with a SD pu.

All in all a very recommendable instrument again.... I don`t know any equivalent with this qualitiy in this price range !!!

I am proud of my two SX Bassguitars, both VPB-62 and
Ursa 3MN 3TS !! :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist:
