Sx ursa 2 6 string review

i like mine quite a bit. a few bad spots on the fretboard that i need my tech to work out. the nut is incredibly sharp, so i need that filed down as well.

things that cant be fixed in a half hour... the low output of the pickups. need to change those in a hurry.

It's not the pickups. Your neck is probably shimmed, if you remove the shim the pickup output explodes. I had the same problem with mine. It didn't even need the shim

OK, the 6 string sx jazz bass looks very nice but unfortunately (to me) the headstock doesn't look like fender's headstock. . Can it be reshaped? Pics anyone? I have a 6 string jazz bass (fender) but it's not passive (passive pups/active 2 band pre) so definitely I'd like to try those 6 str. SXs! $180 for a 6 string jazz bass is a hell of a good deal to me.

So, the body looks like a fender, but the headstock doesn't. Let it be what it is, a mixture of old school J with a modern headstock shape. I like the Ursa 2 6 headstock way more than your Fender one. Different strokes for different folks.

That's some way excellent playing there. And both those basses (the one in the clip and the one in the picture) are pro quality basses. Why on earth would you want to downgrade?
You could just look for a pre-amp with a passive on/off and a passive tone, and have it installed on that fender. The Fender is kick-ass. I happen to like having a passive and active option myself.

Thanks Lucas. Yep, I'm thinking about the active/passive pre amp option but right now I'd like to keep the stock one (it's a very good sounding 2 band -18 volt- pre amp).

I'm returning it. I like the bass but no matter what I do it buzzes on the 5 and 7 the frets. BAD. Where even light playing produces a BBBRRRRR. So no more. I will save my money for a used Conklin gt6-7 and not worry about quality

Unfortunately, Conklin GT series basses only come in 4,5, and 7-string flavors. It was an effort to push 7+ string basses into the production market. It's a shame there aren't more (if any) quality production 7-string basses. :/

Whoa! 5th and 7th fret sounds like something a quarter turn loosening of the truss rod(s) might cure. You DID change the strings, right?

The neck is flat but clearly dips at the 5-7. It's warped. And no I didn't. I'd rather not waste any more money on it
