A great find. I think that one of Raymond Elgar's books contained a similar carved caricature of Dragonetti. And I have found a small example in a book by Tangermann about woodcarving where he is talking about carving caricatures. Gerald Hoffnung is another excellent caricaturist of Musicians

Here’s the Prokofiev ‘Lieutenant Kije’ bass solo for those curious. He wrote it for a 1934 Russian movie.
