Synth & Delay effects in Marc Moulin's "Balek"?

This song kind of makes me horny ... for robots
I just stumbled onto this song on the recommended videos on YouTube on the side panel. Anyhow, it's awesome. I don't know much about Marc Moulin, but I'm assuming that pulsating sound was played on a synth of some kind. I wonder how I could play something similar on bass. A synth pedal into a delay pedal?

I love the groove to this track, it is awesome!
A band called The Sharphooters covered this in the mid seventies.
I encountered it on a compilation called "Wheedle's Groove" on Spotify (can't find a youtube link, sorry).
Their version has a more natural feel to the bass, I suspect it was played on a bass rather than a synth.
I prefer the sharpshooters version (but is this just because I heard that before I heard the Marc Moulin version, which is also awesome!)

Possibly, but I would lean tremolo instead of delay. I can get something similar with an EHX Bass MicroSynth into a tremolo model on a Zoom BT-100. Sounds like there is some Moog Low Pass action toward the end of that clip, too.

Janek Gwizdala recently made a great vlog about recreating synth sounds on bass. He gets a sound similar to that tune with a compressor > octave > dirt > tremolo. Skip all the way to 22:45 for that chop sound. It's not an uncommon approach, but he does a great job of showing different options for each part of the chain. He's using the out-of-production Boss Trem/Pan for the hard tremolo, but you can get a similar chop with an Earthquaker Hummingbird or (again) the tremolo models on the Zoom pedals.

Cool. I'll give the tremolo a try. I like analog pedals but keep a Zoom B60 because it lets me try so many kinds of sounds. Thanks for the suggestion.

I found the version by the Sharpshooters. Cool but more chilled out than the Moulin version.
