synth sounds

I have a bsw, sb7, drq, heartattack. I think I'm covered for synth pedals, I have 3 different distortions, delay, chorus, 2 different wah pedals.
What I want basically is to make my bass almost sound like a keyboard synth. As non-bass as I want to just a little synthy.
If I add an octave pedal that plays an octave below, that should give me that rumbly sub sound? What else can I add to make it sound like a digital mess?

Octave pedal should be good. I would also look into a low pass filter style pedal ie. Iron ether xerograph or moog moogerfooger MF-101.

just plugged my pigtronix mothership into my moog mf-101 lpf and it sounds amazing! can't wait to get a midi to CV converter so I don't have to strain my ankle so much with the lpf.

What's the iron ether?

Iron Ether is a pedal manufacturer that makes really nice looking/sounding stuff. The Xerograph mentioned above is their equivalent to the Moog MF-101 low pass filter. It looks and sounds great, but I had to get a Moog because the Xero doesn't have control voltage input.

BOSS OC-2 in front of most pedals really help push them into synth territory. I've found most pedals, including synth pedals, track it's OCT1 signal well. Then if there's a blend function you can blend in a little of the raw OC-2 OCT1 signal along with the synth effect for added fatness.
