T-bird pups

I want to get a Rickenbacker sound like Lemmy, so I was wondering are there any pickups that will fit my 4 string Epiphone Thunderbird goth that have that high output, I don't want to drill or cut any of the wood just want to put them in, thanks. :bassist:

a T-bird will not cop a rick sound, the locations of the pickups are too different.

no doubt that better pickups like the aforementioned lollars would make it sound like a way better thunderbird, though.

+1 to the lemmy tone being way more about the marshall 100w tube guitar amps anyway.

If we are talking about these pickups:

They are pretty dark sounding IMO. I just had one here to do a setup. Boy, what a cranky bass to setup! The frets needed leveling, and the bridge stud inserts came out of the body and had to be glued in!

But I make replacement pickup in that pickup shell now. My Sidewinders sound like Rick pickups.

I don't know much about T-birds specifically but for the most part IMO it's not hard to get close to his sound. Cut the bass and treble and max out the mids on your amp and run all pickups wide open, no OD pedal but run the gain way up on your amp and you will be pretty close (at least close enough to get by in a cover band). If you're in a tribute band and really want to nail it exact there may be more science to it but for me the previously mentioned method works well.
