Tablature Books

just an FYI that site is illegal .. they do not have the rights

not sure how so as it is endorsed on tools own website... and they do say 'interpretations' not tabs quoted fret for fret (not to mention tool rarely play a song the same way every time!)

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

not to mention there is a disclaimer page on tooltabs that tool has nothing directly to do with them and vice versa :)

just a bit more FYI there :)

from tooltabs page

"The tabs of Tool's songs on this website are by no means exact renditions of the actual songs. They are our own personal interpretations and have been updated on many occasions over a long period of time through the means of user feedback, critical listening, video analysis and personal concert viewings. We have strived to get them as close as possible without kidnapping Justin and Adam and holding them in a dark room by the power of mystic runes engraved in the floor around their chairs while they sit with a guitar and bass...and a pen...and some paper...and maybe some water...and -

The intention of this website was - and remains to be - a resource for Tool fans and musicians to use these tabs and learn the music that we all so dearly enjoy. Tool is in no way officially involved with this website - or its content. No - I don't know Danny's shoe size, and no, we can't get you Maynards phone number because he uses a form of ocult psychic telepathy to communicate with regular hu-mons and therefore does not require the use of a "telephone". What? "

:D

hmm .. not to violate the user agreement on talk bass

but you might want to check out these likes just because they put that disclaimer on that page dose not make them exempt

also you also have to remember some artist do not own there rights sometimes it the label or the original writer of the music

and I will leave the discussion now

thats kool thanks for the links, I won't pretend to fully understand all the legal side of it all... just that considering how long that site has been around and with the bands own endorsment I would have thought they would have been served a shut down order if it was in the 'illegal' status, like the rest of the tab sites did lately that was all :)

and in regards to - also you also have to remember some artist do not own there rights sometimes it the label or the original writer of the music - I always seem to forget that and the more reason why I think that that is so wrong and why I support people like mr reznor!

I dont really have too much more to add,... all the good tab sites are now either dead, dying, or to maintain a non conflict status appear to have almost no content... I wont turn this into a for or against the music industry vs tab websites thread and ill read up on those links you posted

edit: I do think this needs a resolution,... wether as the suggest an 'itabs' or some other model... transcribing is a pain for me as I am technically "hearing impaired" and add a few effects... I have no hope of ever transcribing!
