Tabletop drum kit for recording / apartment use (portable) ?

thanks @DirtDog - i was looking at the Akai MPD218 that I saw linked from the Invalid Link Removed site @Mcgiver69 shared. Have you looked at that also? How do you think it compares with the Atom? They both look pretty similar to me, with the Akai being less expensive and a simpler interface.

I was all set to pull the trigger on the Presonus Atom but saw there was a deal at my local shop on the Novation LaunchKey units. Since they were in stock, I went and picked one up just now - side benefit is I’ve always wanted to poke around with Ableton so this thing scratches a few itches. And it’s got the keyboard interface on top of the MPC pads - so not totally foreign to me. We’ll see how it fares.
