Taco Bell has gone too far!

I remember seeing a news article about some kids at a Burger King that did something similar. I think it was here locally but it could've been the national news. Basically they thought it would be funny to put some weed on the burgers they served through the drive thru to some cops. Of course the cops noticed the taste, turned around and arrested everyone there. Since pot is illegal they got slapped with something nasty as the DA argued that the kids had tried to poison the police officers.

On another note. Never, and I mean NEVER, order a pizza just before the pizza place closes. Those ovens take a while to clean and the employees will frequently start cleaning them early. Order a pizza and they have to start over. I knew some kids in high school who worked at a Godfather's Pizza that did some truly nasty stuff to pizzas that were order about five minutes before close. To this day I will only order a pizza if it is at least an hour before the place closes.

I LOVE Taco Bell. I've mentioned taco bell more than once on Nerve CDs. Taco Bell is one of the only, if not THE ONLY fast food place that really caters to vegetarians. Ya can get pretty much anything on their menu without beef and and they have the ol bean or 7 layer burritos which are awesome. I believe they're really good for ya too, as there's nothing quite like the dumps ya take the day after eating 2 bean burritos, and a 7 layer. :) Yes! Good stuff. I used to eat it a couple of times a week, and my most recent blood work even showed up spotless. Everything well withing check.

That all being said - I hadn't had it in a while, and treated myself last monday. In the Staten Island mall. Ate like a pig, lotsa onions too. They were looking at me kinda funny when I was ordering, nobody else was there, but I didn't think nuthing of it. EVERYBODY else already heard the news earlier that day...

I got the psychosomatic pains in the stomach the next day, but they went away when I heard E-Coli usually takes 2 to 7 days to kick in.

I ain't quitting though, and quite frankly - I'm a little bit worried about those guys now. There aren't many Taco Bells in NY to start with. They close quite frequently even without the bad publicity.

Last little bit of TB trivia - seems to me there are more taco bells in California than anywhere on the planet. While at NAMM last year I noticed you could give people directions by saying, "Go 2 taco bells, make a left, go 4 more taco bells, another left - and you're there." Just as a goof when I went running in the morning I told my bandmates I was going to run one taco bell. There was one across the street from us (starting point), and sure as hell, about a mile and a half away was another. Made for a perfect 3 mile run.

Did I say I love taco bell?

i used to feel taco bell catered to vegetarians well too. but Jain Digest did some digging and and published an article about how the sour cream contains gelatin and the cheese has some animal product...renin i believe it was. regardless if they do/don't or if i can get food without it, i still wouldn't feel comfortable eating there, mostly for the above mentioned employees.

although i am digging this new breed of mexican fast food that's coming up lately, qdoba's makes a fine burrito

The Chicken Enchilada Grilled Stuffed Burrito. Good grief, could they possibly pack any more words or syllables into a fast-food menu item! And even more words and syllables if you order the "Chicken Enchilada Grilled Stuffed Burrito COMBO". I felt pretty much like a dweeb having to yell that whole thing into a drive-thru window. Maybe they should have just brought back the "enchirito" word.

I've noticed a trend lately with food. People LIKE to say big words and long phrases. It makes them sound smart.

Watch the next Jack in the Box or McDonald's commercial. Same deal. Especially when naming breads and cheeses. Yeah, they have fancy names already, but they LOVE to say those names. They sound fancy and smart.

Back in the early 90's, my buddies Aunt got a bad meal from her local Taco Bell in Eastern Washington. As it turns out, a male employee thought it would be cool to see if someone could get pregnant from eating his sperm. No lie, he spilled some of his seed in the ground beef. He had done it more than once, so a camera was set up to confirm the accusations. He was caught only a couple days later.

I used to eat there all the time when I lived in Minnesota, and that was the only place I could get cheap "Mexican" food late at night.

Granted, now I live in SF, where real Mexican food, really good stuff, can be had at all hours of the night...

...But what put me off Taco Bell even before moving back here was the realization that they serve the "sour cream" and "guacamole" from caulking guns! Now, I know that has nowhere near the badness of e.coli, poop, seed, bad meat, etc.... But I just don't want to eat food from a caulking gun! :D

Holy crap, this is the first I've heard about Taco Bell's E. Coli tainted onions, and I just ate there for lunch today. Luckily I didn't have any onions though.

Whew. Had me worried there for a moment.

anything that could have possibly been infected, taco bell pulled last week. so you're safe.

all the TB's around me are closed right now. i can't wait for them to open again.

After reading and posting my own story of food abuse by employees I have come to the following conclusion.

The kids or adults who do this stuff on purpose should have their hands removed , mouths sewn shut , castrated if that was involved and a colostomy bag installed if that was involved and be exiled to a 3rd world prison system.

I don't eat out much , I used to do refrigeration in restaurants and the stuff I saw , even in nice places , ruined it for me.
