My luthier just repaired the tailpiece wire which was the aircraft cable type stuff, and fitted a new length.
Thing is, I think the new wire is longer than the previous one (or at least the loop of it). The result is that the distance between the TP and the bridge is shorter, and the strings feel looser to play.
I've not noticed any real drop in tone quality, and the playability seems to have gone up a notch from what it was before with the higher tension...
Is it a good or bad thing? Any hidden problems it may cause?
