I'm a bit curious to hear opinions on the traditional "tulip style" tailpiece vs the compensated or "harp" style tailpiece. What are the advantages/disadvantages of either? Also, if we're comparing this, I'd like to hear opinions on alternate woods. Obviously Ebony is the most popular due to it's density with Rosewood coming in second. But there are others like Bubinga, Tigerwood, Zebrawood, and a few more. What are the tonal characteristics and advantages of using these exotic woods? Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions and experiences.

I had too much work done to my bass all at once to tell what effect any individual change might have had, but the cumulative effect was more fundamental projection, more warmth, but with more clarity. I'll post some pics, but it was new (thicker) fingerboard, new bridge, new Pecanic tailpiece, new nut, new gears.

When that happen? Who do it?
