It's not dead yet, I don't remember what my thread was about anymore, but theres plenty here for everyone.
I guess it's the audition and dealing with and figuring out what opportunities are right for certain people and how to appraoch them.
I've made some mistakes, "so be it". I have also learned from them.
And I am stuborn, a lot of the suggestions have been limited. You know play in a jazz or blues group with guys your age. That is good advice I can't argue it, but I 'm not going to do that.
And with that Blue I have to agree with Tampabass, this thread is dead..done! We know what you want and you have stated it clearly. We have offered our views and advice and there is really nothing more anyone can say. The next thread I will be waiting for is one from you on an audition or new band..good luck!
Here's an alternative:
Instead of waiting until they missed the promised "decision" date, you could have made a statement at the end of the audition that you have an offer from another band and that YOU will make a decision by such and such a date.
Then they could have responded and let you go right then since they were going to be auditioning others and would not be able to have a decision for you by your deadline date or asked you to hold off until they finished their auditioning process and Would you wait?
I think this would be more "upfront" about what's happening and get everyone on the same page sooner rather than later and with less drama.
Unless you really didnt' have another offer, then you should have just asked them to make a decision on you at the end of the audition BEFORE you auditioned. That would have saved you the most time because they probably would have told then that they won't be making any decisions until all the auditions are completed and you could have just not auditioned in the first place.
