Just be a Gentleman...open doors, pull out chairs, that kind stuff. If she wants do dance, dance. If she goes in to kiss you, just go with it. It's her fault if you find it awkward. Maybe you'll have fun.
Oh, and don't show her this thread. TB is NO place for a guitarist. And she'll probably slap you for calling her a guitard. Then again, I want to slap you right now because you have terrible grammar.

This is not a serious rant but who cares if his grammer isnt very good? My grammer is terrible but if you need a Engine or Transmission rebuilt for you car or some Computer Diagnostics done to cure youir check engine light I wont hold it against you that you dont have clue or the tools to do the repairs,I will fix you car and take your money with a smile and not judge you for being mechanically ignorant.

I'm not sure that analogy holds. I would say that grammar is a fairly fundamental skill, like driving. In which case those with exceptional automotive skills (great mechanics, race drivers, ...) would be poets - they do far more than "just drive".

You can be quite successful without knowing how to repair your own vehicle. But it's a pretty serious disadvantage (at least in most of the USA) if you can't even drive a vehicle. Driving helps you get yourself (and your gear) where you need to be. Good grammar helps you get your ideas where they need to be. You can get by without it, but not without limiting your ability to communicate in writing. Whether this matters to you depends on how much you care about communicating, and how many ways you have to communicate.

The written word is just one of many choices - some with strings attached. Nobody cares if B.B. King knows how to spell guitar, because he can make it speak for him. But if you want to make it in music, or any other industry, that almost inevitably means dealing with Management in one form or another. And a lot of those guys are tone-deaf, so you might have trouble getting them to hear you without some basic grammatical chops.

You don't need to be Maya Angelou, but poor spelling and run-on sentences missing punctuation and misplaced homophones are about as pleasant as few dozen quarter notes on the root with no groove. What do you want your sound to be?

Being a Mechchanic is definentaly not too high on the food chain as far as careers go,my point is that most everybody has a skill or nitch that they excel at and other things that they do not.
If it were more important to me then I would study up on my grammer and punctuation but coming from a blue collar background I dont use it every day so it isnt that important to me,I would rather keep learning new songs and improve my bass skills.
My Grandmother was a High School Grammer teacher in Maryland where image is everything so I do understand and agree with you to a point.
