Austin is a great place though! Went there a few times when I lived in Lubbock, many years ago. It's funny how some have mentioned already, the turnoff would be the heat. I loved the heat! I used to be roofing in Texas all through summer. The pubs loved it when we came in after a day in the sun and spent mega dollars on booze!!

Last time I went to Austin for work (2014ish?), the flight into Austin was a THOUSAND dollars more than flying into Dallas. so I flew to dallas and rented a car for the rest of the way.

Can't guarantee it because of the possibility of work travel or family stuff, but otherwise yes, I'm definitely down for it. Thankfully I live close enough that I won't need to mess with flights... and I'm also in one of a very small number of places that actually has worse June weather.

Just priced something in January from BWI to AUS and it was only about $500 round trip. I was expecting higher.

It doesn’t seem to be like that now. I live about an hour north of Austin, two hours south of DFW so I fly out of both - but pricing is very similar these days, it’s more about scheduling. I just booked a trip last week, AUS was actually cheaper than flying out of Love.

It's very possible that I'll be in Austin in June '26. Therefore, I can see myself attending.

Y'all don't be too concerned about summer heat - I reckon Texas will still have air-conditioning.

I'm all for it, IF you put it online. I am not willing to take a flight over the atlantic just for such a small event, but I'd be very interested in seeing some of the hightlights.

It's a long shot for me, but I wouldn't totally rule it out. It would depend on schedule and finances.

I haven't been to Austin since my road days in 1984. Yes, it was very warm, but I survived. This could be fun. Put me down as a maybe. Thinking possibly this could happen. If you change cities or month, please let us know asap. Thanks.

PS: You sure you wouldn't want a nice cooler in June West Coast city?
San Francisco, L.A., Portland or Seattle?

My boss is in Austin and we sometimes have meetings there. If that were to align, I'd be all over it.
