Needed updating. I feel like a tool now.

An old, technology challenged tool.

Don't think so. Looks like you're using the old app. The new current app looks like this when starting:

Taken on a 4S.

I am seeing this on an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.4

Working fine here on an iPhone 5 running iOS 7. TB app I have is version 1.22.10.

Edit: I was still running old app, new is 2.2.14. Had to remove app and then reinstall. Wow, this looks different!

Deleted app and downloaded again. All fixed.

Deleted it on my ipad running ios7 and reloaded it. Worked fine. Came back later and it wouldn't start up again. Redeleted it and downloaded again. Posting on it now. We'll see if it holds.

I've done the uninstall reinstall 4 times. It works until I close it and do something else, then I reopen it and I'm back to the black screen.

I just reinstalled it again. The interface is different this time with a side bar menu. We will see if it continues to work.

It seems I have to delete and download the TalkBass every morning. When I update, it seems to be ok until the next morning. Then I get the Tapatalk blank screen.

Edit: I think I know what may be happening. I delete and download the new app on my iPhone. I think when I sync it up with my PC, it's reverting back to the old App. I'll test my theory tomorrow.

Further edit: My theory didn't work. Every morning, I am required to delete the TalkBass App and download it again.

works fine on iPhone 4S , but not on my iPad 3or 4 I can't remember which one I have(I'm old)

I have an iPad 2 with iOS 7. The app worked for a day or two, then started crashing. I uninstalled and reinstalled. App now hangs at login screen.

Wow, this update has just been a miserable failure. I guess I'll just use the Tapatalk app from now on.

I did have the Tapatalk version working fine on my iPAD but it just stopped working the other day. I start it up now and it just seems to hang. I tried deleting and re-installing, rebooting my iPAD, same thing.

The other thing I noticed when it was working was that the number of threads in the BG Amps forum showed only 21. I went to the settings and cleared the cache and then I got back all the threads, although I had to shut down the app and restart to get them all back again.

Right now the app is a no go for me.
