Talkbass Golfers Club!

12 hcp right now and working to get it into single digits. With KY weather, it's obviously hard to do this time of year. What a game!

How hard can it be? I'm in Milwaukee and we still have a lot of open courses. It was 21 degrees yesterday and I don't golf when it's like that but it's 38 now and if someone calls, I would probably go.

Love golf. I played JPGA for about 7 years as a child, took a big break and have now been playing for about a year. No where as good as I use to be but its still just as fun. I really enjoy playing Short Bag; 7, wedge, a putter and set the par 5s to 6. Its a slow game but very relaxing. Helps you focus on every swing. Otherwise we just grab a sandwich, some Lone Star and play 36.

New "golfer" here. I started going to the driving range about a year ago because I like to hit stuff and my bum shoulder won't let me swing a bat anymore. Took a few lessons and found that for an old beginner I'm not too horrible. Played my first 9 holes last summer and wasn't terribly embarrassed. Played my first 18 holes later in the summer and was awful. :hiding:

All in all, I like the range. I can putt, I can chip, and I can hit stuff....

Just found this thread. Hell yeah, I love golf. I am playing tomorrow before the SB (forecast is low 40's and calls for slices, shanks and beers afterwards). I play all year long as Mother Nature dictates. This year has been awesome; I played a bunch in January and 2 days ago (9 holes). I am a 10.7 handicap

Fortunately I am leaving in a week for Curacao and Miami and playing golf in the Caribbean. Life does not suck for this hack!

I used to play 3 days a week in the 80's & 90's. Best I ever shot was a 79 and hovered in the low 80s consistently. Then I got a real job and all that ended. For the past 10 years I've managed to play 2-3 times a year. It sucks not having the time to play more often but I enjoy every minute of being out there whacking away at the little white ball. I'm still hitting in the low 90s though, which I'm happy with.
