Snowing today (not sticking) but that always makes want to play. I actually much more in the winter. Cheaper and not so many people at risk

Hitting it on friday. Last two times were horrible. Times before that I was sub 90 both rounds (which is very good for me).

Now that summer is finally coming to a close (thank God) I can hit the links without risk of heat stroke!

I've been toying all summer with my swing. I try to hit 30 "balls" a day, then work on chipping. With the birdie balls I bought at the beginning of summer, I'm able to squeeze in a little practice every day, and my slice is working itself out with my short irons. I'm working mostly with my 7-SW because the loft really shows the slice with the practice balls.

I've also ditched my driver and play 3-5-7 woods and 4/5-SW. Woods are Lynx, putter is and Odyssy, and I've got off-brand cavity back irons.

Here in two weeks, I'm playing a Par 3 with my brother. Will be interesting to see if the scoring iron practice will pay off.

I'm going to go out once more this year. Maybe this weekend, depends on how much my hands/joints hurt after putting a new clutch into our race car tomorrow.

I'd still sell my soul for a club I could hit 200 from the fairway with any consistency.

I haven't played much this summer, but am playing in a scramble tournament tomorrow with some high school friends. My goal is to hit it straight on the two holes that parallel the interstate - anything beyond that is pure gravy.

I'm also playing a scramble tourney tomorrow. I play at least a few of those every year... they seem to be popular fundraisers here in South Florida.

Finally did it, I reached the single digit handicap index (9.8). Gulp!

We'll see how long that lasts!!

No accidents on the highway - I think my drive got knocked down by the trees. It was a gorgeous day and no wildlife was harmed during the round. We played with my buddies' daughter's boyfriend who could hit the ball a ton and was pretty straight as well so we finished with an even par.

I was 14" from a flat screen TV on a 125 yd par 3 - we knocked that one in for birdie. I was also 1/2" from the straightest drive line in one fairway. Unfortunately, that was from a different tournament, this one didn't have a straightest drive.

Good deal. We placed solidly in the middle of the pack as usual, but I did account for four out of our six birdie puts myself, which is probably a lifetime record for me.

Very impressive.

On occasion, I string 3 or 4 holes together at the handicap, then reversion to the norm sets in and I am scrambling to stay under 100.

MCS4 - thanks. We could have used your putting, we only sunk one longer than 8'. I was locked in from 100-140 yards - but everything else was hit or miss, including the putter.
