Talkbass guitar counterpart

Hey there guys, i'm looking for a talkbass counterpart for guitar as i want to have a good resource to learn a little bit more about it. Does anyone know a good and helpful forum just like ours? Thanks!

That's a really good place to learn about guitars. I've used Talkbass and The Gear Page pretty regularly. Of course that place has EVERYONE.

I know, I was only half serious. Guitards are to busy trying to show off to take the time to share info and such. That's why the low end here thrives.

I agree with the Gear Page. I haven't hung out there in years, but it used to be very good. MyLesPaul was also a good forum--strongly Gibson oriented, as you can guess from the title.

I was just about to ask this same question. Kind of surprised there isn't a more ready answer. From the random searches I've conducted on specific topics recently, it looks like a lot of guitarists hang out on specific sites like Seymour Duncan and pages devoted to specific makers. I'll check out The Gear Page. Thanks!

The best thread ever on TDPRI is somewhere under their "epic threads" section. A Israeli luthier named Gil Yaron, also called preeb on the forum decided to make the MOST incredibly detailed recreation of a '59 Les Paul ever.

To each his own, but my experience with UG has been quite different - I was a fairly regular member up until a few years back - the tone on their forums just doesn't compare to the mature and civil nature of TB. In fact, I was browsing through their forums today after a very long time and found myself shaking my head at numerous negative aspects that you will rarely, if ever, find in the average TB discourse.

True, indeed, but I was just referring to the OP's specific query regarding a 'helpful' site which I personally do not find UG to be Again, I emphasise, to each his own.

That's pretty awesome.

Gibson is doing this now with their Collectors Choice series. One of the guitar players in my band has a 59 burst Les Paul and Gibson did replicas of it as CC #24 - they even mimicked the finish checking and everything.
