TapeWound Club~Anyone?

Another recent tapewound addict here. Would love a number! :D

Put the "light" 750N La Bella DTB Black Nylon Tape Wounds on my Ibanez ABG (AEB10E)
and the "standard" 760N La Bella DTB Black Nylon Tape Wounds on my ESP Ltd B-4E

I put Chromes on my SUB Ray4 to make it behave, thinking they'd mellow it out. Turns out they did all that and more- It sounds like three completely different instruments depending on whether I use my thumb, fingers, or the backs of my fingernails, and I'll often use all three over the course of a single loop session just for the sheer variety of tones they offer.

Bonus points for that smooth, clean feel, and the lovely bluish sheen they seem to emit under soft light.

I melt.

So I had an order in to BSO for a set of La Bella 760T-B Standard gauge, the White Nylon 5-string set with a 60 G string and 115 E.

Jason told me he had no definite ETA, so I switched to the 750T-B light gauge set (50-135).

Well today I got the BSO newsletter announcing the return of the Game of Death Limited Edition Gold White Nylons with black silk windings. I almost immediately placed an order for those and will be sending the Whites back as soon as they arrive.

I am so excited!!!

My understanding about La Bella is that they don't keep a large inventory of products stocked up. Some of the mainstream stuff is readily available, but specialty stuff like Standard gauge 5-string tapewounds aren't kept in inventory.

I had to wait about three weeks for my light gauge Copper tapes.

That's okay with me. La Bella are a specialty string manufacturer. They aren't like the giants in the biz, like D'Addario and Fender. I prefer th La Bella product and find it to be worth the wait.

I'm sorry to hear about those experiences. I guess I can't speak for La Bella.

On another note- once my Game of Death La Bellas arrive, all three of my basses will have tapewounds. I'm loving them more each day!

Count me in, I like those tapewound, the sound, the smooth feeling in your fingers. I have my ABG with tapes, way better than phosphor.

Well I'm all taped up- La Bella Game of Death Gold Nylon Tapes on my Squier Standard Precision V, La Bella Copper Nylon Tapes on my Schecter Raiden Special-4, and D'Addario Tapes on my Ibanez AEB5E acoustic. I'm thinking of some La Bella Black Nylon Tapes for that one somewhere down the road...
