Tasing old ladies

Do most people feel that tasers are useful law enforcement tools or should they be replced with somethig else? Is the issue the situation in which it was used or the age of the tazed? At what age should an officer not use a taser? Would you feel the tazing was justified if she were younger?

Just curious.

Mike
I hate tasers. I think the "non-lethality" of them makes them easy to justify overuse, and yes, I think this was overuse.

Cops should not be in the practice of shooting electrodes into people and pumping them full of electricity. This would be considered torture if we did it to prisoners of war. Why are we allowing it to be done to our own citizens?

I am not defending grandma, I think she was clearly resisting arrest and leaving the cop less options than he'd ideally like, but I don't believe that a taser should be his first line of defense as soon as words stop.

Have I mentioned that we have too many cops?:ninja:

Where do you see anybody being rational on this thread?

I watched the video. What I see is a big, stupid, P*SSY assaulting a defenseless innocent civilian for no reason. He created a violent situation by shoving her unprovoked, then used excessive force.

Are you also in favor of violence against children?

Animal Control would have done a better job of handling that situation.

This cop should lose his job and be prosecuted for felonius assault.
So what, as soon as we get our AARP card, we are allowed to verbally abuse cops and no longer have to follow orders. It could have been handled better, but she was in control of being tased or not. If she simply complied, there wouldn't be a thread.
