I love the bass line, but I thought it was written and recorded on a keyboard - a Fairlight CMI.

Here's a tune from a CD that I wore out when I first started playing bass.
Bill Champlin Single. The Bass player is David Shields, I believe.
As far as I'm concerned this is as good as it get's playing slap bass in pop music.
