Tattoo

I can't see how that could possibly be a bad idea.

I agree.

Almost as awesome as my plan to get a tattoo of Tattoo

Lots of people have tattoos of Tattoo, but the most awesome one I've seen was a full-back piece on his former girlfriend/caretaker. It depicts him in a traditional Hawaiian sarong, on an island, holding a bowl up to the sky, with swirling clouds of multicolored magical smoke billowing up from it. I actually got to see this back piece up close, in person at a tattoo convention many years ago.

That's pretty awesome.

I really wanted a tattoo of Tattoo giving me a tatoo.

But I'm stuck on what the tattoo within the tattoo should be and pseudo infinite regression just seemed like a cop out.

best advice i've ever heard regarding a tattoo.

get it drawn up by the artist, then put it on ur wall for 3 months.. if u still like it.. then get it

as far as what a tattoo feels like

right when ur getting ready to say "ouch" the artist has to get more ink

Regarding your tattoo, I don't know why you want a walrus. I assume that it means something to you. It damn well better mean something to you, because it ain't gonna wash off.

As for the back of the leg, again: why there?

First of all, I am not legally allowed to get a tattoo on my own. But I've been thinking about it, and plan on thinking about it for a long, LONG time. Long enough that I'm positive of what I want. Why a walrus many of you ask? I love The Beatles, that's why. It reflects my personality - random. My choice would either be this, or Aum, the sacred syllable :smug:. I'm also into religious symbolism. As for the back of the leg, I figured this might be a good choice for me because should I get a formal job somewhere down the line, it would be pretty easy to hide (the solution being pants), but I could still show it off anyway. I am fully aware this kind of decision takes a lot of deliberation, which is why I thought it might be a good idea to put this up to my fellow TB'ers.

Thanks and Love

EDIT:

My manager has a tattoo of a monkey playing bass.

Hi Frozilla,

You answered my questions in a way that makes sense, at least to me.

From my perspective, you have your head on straight, so I can't think of a reason to say "don't do it".

Thanks a bunch bro. I'm not really rushing into this at all, I have plenty of time. I'm just considering the possiblities.

You say you aren't old enough to get it by yourself. In the US is it ok to get a tattoo when underage if you have parental consent?

I just ask because I know a lot of people think that is how it works in the UK (tattoo at the age of 16/17 is ok with parental consent, when it isn't). Any tattooist worth seeing won't ink anyone underage, just something to consider (like I said, not familiar with US laws on the matter).

I wanted my unicorn, dragon and ghostbusters tattoo's from about 13/14, got them from ages 18-20, still loving 'em, so if you still want it when you have had more time to think it through (ie are old enough to get it done), then why the heck not :) . Worst comes to worst and you regret it? You can have it to remember a time when you didn't!

I want to get my tattoo when I'm a bit older so I know if I still want it or not. Time will tell. And plus I want to do it when I CAN do it by myself because it makes it all the more my decision.

well ya gotta realize it will be on your body for the rest of your life.

I was very very drunk and 18 yrs old one st patty days. the local tat shop was giving 20 irish tatoos.

I played sober, and I got a leprecan poppin a squat and taking a sh!t on my a$$.

Now every time I moon someone, I have to explain why there is a pooping leprecan on my behind:smug:
