I got you covered. This Sick Beet T-Shirt | SpreadshirtThen I will coincidentally write and perform a new song called "This Sick Beat" and see what happens. I will also wear a shirt that says "This Sick Beat" in the video.
TalkBass is not your personal erotica site.
Hahaha, I've definitely received similar expressions of jealousy from my better half.According to my wife, it is....
In the Tay Swiffer thread?Let's talk about something important - pick a topic - any topic - besides Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift tribute song or even band name? Then I will coincidentally write and perform a new song called "This Sick Beat" and see what happens. I will also wear a shirt that says "This Sick Beat" in the video.
A sad aspect of all this, is that some people believe Swift had ANYTHING to do with the composition and writing of her own song.![]()
If I copyright or trademark the word "brotha" then you gonna have to pay, pay, pay....Oh, I'm going for more than just song titles, or even just songs. Any time anyone uses the phrase in a song, movie, TV show, book, etc., dey gon' hafta pay a brotha!
Just to be clear, that "brotha" would be me!
The two phrases "Playaz gonna play" and "Haterz gonna hate" are just part of our culture.
They are no different from....
"Love you like a fat kid loves cake"
"Speak of the devil..."

I'm going to copyright each letter in the alphabet. So there! You guys all owe me.Oh, I'm going for more than just song titles, or even just songs. Any time anyone uses the phrase in a song, movie, TV show, book, etc., dey gon' hafta pay a brotha!

You can't sue for using common phrases.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Led Zeppelin, yet. So, I won't do so, either.
Some yes. Not all though. My big takeaway from listening to the two tunes is "wow, today's pop music is even worse than I thought"
Your list of phrases sounds like the track listing for a kick-ass instrumental funk album! The two phrases "Playaz gonna play" and "Haterz gonna hate" are just part of our culture.
They are no different from....
"Love you like a fat kid loves cake"
"Speak of the devil..."
"When pigs fly..."
"Break a leg"
"Foe shizzle..."
"Taste of your own medicine"
"Hundo P..."
"Throwing shade..."
"Sus....."
"Number one STAN...."
"Extra...."
You can't sue for using common phrases. The two songs sound nothing alike. Nobody ever in the whole world ever listened to either or both songs and thought "T Swifty dun straight up nicked dem lyrics, yo."
(How many of the above phrases did you have to Google?)
