Taylor Swift Being Sued for "Shake It Off" Lyrics

Make no mistake: This is all about money, suing DEEP pockets for a settlement. Substitute that guy trying to sell his rap CD in the parking lot at the 7-11 for Taylor Swift, this ain't happening. The previous suit, 42 mil, OK, settle for 5% plus court costs, that's still 2 million dollars, not a bad payday for bulls**t.

I would think that as pop songs devolve basically to catch phrases over beats, this will be more and more common in this sue-crazy country. It will be complex as so many of these idiotic tunes may have five or six CO-writers. Puh-leeeeze . . . . .

:roflmao:
The two phrases "Playaz gonna play" and "Haterz gonna hate" are just part of our culture.

They are no different from....
"Love you like a fat kid loves cake"
"Speak of the devil..."
"When pigs fly..."
"Break a leg"
"Foe shizzle..."
"Taste of your own medicine"
"Hundo P..."
"Throwing shade..."
"Sus....."
"Number one STAN...."
"Extra...."

You can't sue for using common phrases. The two songs sound nothing alike. Nobody ever in the whole world ever listened to either or both songs and thought "T Swifty dun straight up nicked dem lyrics, yo."

(How many of the above phrases did you have to Google? ;) )
NONE! Best laugh of the day.:roflmao:
I guess what amuses me most is that any of these 'artists' think that what they do is 100% original. Hey, you want to have fun? Go see Mammothor. These guys seem to know how to have fun in the spirit of Rock And Roll. I'm an old fart but these guys just seemed to hit the nail on the head. Rock on brothers.

Well looks like BOTH parties win big in the publicity department. And Facebook/Yadda/Yadda/&Etc. all get lots of juicy new clickbait. That's a Win-Win-Win......

Disclaimer: I managed to avoid clicking on either song to listen to them :D

I bet Kanye has something to say about it...

I didn't hit the "like" button because I was afraid there was something I missed in the fine print and would end up getting sued.

I’m sorry, but that song was wretched. I feel sorry for the jury if this goes to trial.
Are you kidding?!?!

The lucky jurors will probably get to hear both songs over and over and over and over and over again! You know, for comparison's sake! WHAT COULD BE BETTER!!!:woot::hyper:

Just in case my post isn't dripping with enough sarcasm to make it obvious - yes, it's sarcasm.:smug:

Don’t worry, it was obvious!

I am not a fan of her or the song but I have to say the song is catchy. Here is a video to prove my point.

You need to check out the Walk off the Earth version.
