TB Hurricane Isaias thread.

The named storm doesn't seem to be all that dramatic other than the tornadoes. Those thing seem to be popping up everywhere. Several passed just south or east if here. We're supposed to be getting the worst of it around 4 a.m. local (currently almost 1 a.m.).

Lots of debris to get after this morning. In my 5 acre yard there will be likely 3 bonfires worth.

Otherwise, we're fine. Everyone up north good to go?

So, we're going to our place in Surf City in an hour or so. Our plan was to stay until the evening of Sunday the 9th. Looks like we'll be driving back THIS Sunday and maybe going back down Tuesday evening if everything is clear(ish). If it's only going to be up to 50-60 mph gusts and some rain we'll ride it out down there. This one is moving way too fast for flooding. But being about 59 yards from tue ocean and right on a canal does make one stop and ponder....

Anyone else potentially in the bath of this thing?

Got some decent rain last night but nothing too crazy.

I'm gathering an apartment complex about a half mile from our beach place in Surf City burned down last night displacing between 30 and 40 people. Power still isn't back on down there.


We may have to stay home ome more nig hut before going back. Not a big deal in the big scheme of things.

At least no pianos were hurt!
I guess it’s pointed right at us. 40 mph winds we can handle, except for lots of outages. And the rain? Hell, we could sure use some. Still, this was how Irene started for us, and it’s taken years to get over it. So we‘re paying attention!

My first chance to get on TB since the storm. Not much rain and not too windy except for one strong gust that came through that knocked down some branches and trees.

My power along with about 500,000 PSEG Long Island customers went out Tuesday afternoon. I still have no power.

IMO pretty poor prep and response from PSEG as we/they knew that we were going to be hit with Tropical Storm winds well in advance.
