TB Runners Club!

I've been sidelined for about 6 months now. I ran in junior high and high school, quit when I was in my early 20s and started up again around 25. I'm turning 35 soon and I've run two marathons (3:30:16), some halfs (1:35:30) and too many 5 Ks and 10 Ks to count (19:00 and 41:30). I'm nowhere near my best times from high school though. I guess that's what happens when you are twice as old and 25 lbs heavier.

Some great stories here, I went against doctor's orders a bit and did a 4K and 5K after the visit (they were mandatory for gym class, so I figured two more runs wouldn't kill me) and beat everyone in my class by at least 2-3 minutes on each one. It really didn't feel too bad, and I've been given the go to continue through the baseball season this year. I was advised to cross train, maybe some cycling, maybe some lifting and such to help build up strength for next year, I don't know, I haven't really planned much out. Track season's over now and I'm in no rush to hit the road or track again too soon, but I'm determined to break a 1:35 half next year, so I won't be sidelined for long.

I resurrect this upon finishing my fifth half marathon yesterday; 1:44:55 on nearly no training. I'm happy with it, but at the same time my legs are punishing me now for not putting in any time on the treadmill before I decided to go for it. I'd like to train all summer this year (as the post above me says my goal time this year was sub-1:35), as opposed to doing two long runs a month before the race and nothing else.
