TBC Blowout on their eBay store.

I recieved my JT400JJ Tuesday. Unfortunately, it will be a Christmas gift from my wife (I had to promise to act surprised). Problem is, other than checking it for obvious damage, she won't let me touch it until Sunday!! I'm dying here. Pictures will follow.

One quick question. The bass didn't come with any paperwork at all. Is there supposed to be any sort of "instructions" or anything? I imagine I can figure out the knobs easily enough, but if there is documentation, I'd rather have it for my records.

The last two links on the left side of the web page are TBC Warranty and TBC Setup, that is where you find the info. I guess you should print it out as I would imagine the website will go off line at some point.

There was nothing included with the bass other than two allen wrenches for truss rod and bridge saddle adjustments.

I know it's messed up, but we'll split the shipping.

If the thing weren't glued down, he could send me a replacement guard.

I've decided to keep the bass as is. Truth is I am really enjoying it and don't want to part with it and wait God knows how long before I get it back repaired or replaced and it is a rather small flaw that only I will know is there.

Sent mine back and the delivery confirmation says "left on porch." I emailed asking if it has arrived in one piece but no reply....kinda worried.

When I spoke with Jack before the holidays, it sounded like he was planning to take some time off from the business over the holidays. I emailed him on the 21st and didn't get back an answer yet... not sure what other people's experiences have been lately.

If you're concerned, there is a phone number on the TBC website. I get the impression that is a home phone number based on previous calls, so you might have better luck.

I had a minor billing issue (paypal invoice to wrong email), so I called the number on the web site. I got tthe impression it was a home phone, talked to a very nice woman (his wife?). Got it straightened right out.

I called and he answered. He was really nice. He had fixed my bass and has shipped it out. He asked about my part of the shipping, he said "a deal's a deal." I told him not to worry about it. His offer to do that meant more than the money.

I asked if he had any more basses and he laughed. He said "I think they are reproducing! I keep finding more and more." I said when he assembled a 4 string JJ, I would buy it.

got to visit my bass this last week (keep it at my parent's as a vacation practice bass). nice materials (except the cheap strings), and good value for $300. the one thing potential buyers should be aware of: this bass requires a good setup, and a probably a little more tweaking. besides the setup (truss rod adjustment, intonation, etc - a couple of times as the bass "set") i had to file down some of the screws on the back (that connect the nect to the body) as they had jagged edges from driver slippage when originally installed. after the setup and tweaks, the EQ was usefull enough to make me happy with the tone (despite hating the strings and being used to half-flats). great value for the money, but expect to spend some time dialing it in.
