TBC MusicMan pickup replacement?

So I've checked the "Stingray Tone" sticky already and didn't really get anywhere. I have a TBC (The Bass Company) 5-string with one MM-style pickup (in the right location), and I want to find a relatively cheap pickup that could help in getting a Stingray-esque tone out of it. I've already settled on a preamp (John East MM 2-band), so you don't need to tell me that the preamp is what'll get me that tone. Anyways, suggest away .

Well, you've already got a relativity cheap pickup that gets you close, so the next logical step would be Nordstrand MM 5.2. See the bottom of the page.

I prefer SGD's, but the Nordy will be more Stingray-ish for better or worse :)

Thanks, that was the one I was leaning toward. I heard some people say that they were weak, but I assume that could be solved by just raising the pickup a little bit.
