My second BG-250 arrived today along with a Morley ABY I purchased used through GC for $30. I'll be trying them out on Thursday. They've got another available for the same price...

Thanks, but that unit has been sold. anyway, I'm thinking all I need is just a Y splitter which sells for $17 at loop-master.com or $19, and is available immediately, at Americanloopers.com Has anybody dealt with either of these companies before?

I will be getting my second BG250 this Friday. Also got an email today that a whole new bunch of Toneprints have been released.

The Morley isn't the only splitter pedal... check out other ABY or A/B switchers, there are plenty of them for not too much money. Boss looks to have a purty good one for a good price.

Ralph i know you can't wait for the Corona Chorus for your next gig to split signal. I did some research on this and came up with the "Lehle P-Split II". It is $150 and works flawlessly and it is passive. Great reviews on it but it is pricey.

That being said i hear absolutely no signal degradation using that unit. I just purchased a TC Electronic Flashback X4 pedal. When i use the direct bypass of that pedal i am suppose to be hearing an unaffected signal. But i do! When i unplug from the pedal and go directly into the amp it is definitely cleaner and crisper. I don't hear that with the "Lehle" unit. Signal integrity is intact. This advice may not help you because the unit is a bit pricey but perhaps someone else can benefit.

My guess is the Corona will color the sound in bypass as well....as this new Flashbackx4 pedal of theirs is suppose to be top of the charts and it does sound great....but who knows till we try it right? I just put the order form for the free Corona in my mailbox a few minutes ago. Hope you do find an inexpensive and effective solution!

So I got all excited for the new tone prints for bass and they arent there on the app. I deleted the app and reloaded and there still not there and the all the second gen tone prints are gone too. I love the tone print feature but TCE needs to get their poop together on this app business. Hows about an update in the app store? Geez.

I just downloaded the app for android 2 days ago and I have around 37 toneprints under BG250. Once I installed it, I updated the app using my 4g, it wouldn't update correctly using wifi. I'm not sure if that was just for me, but it may be worth looking into.

edit: Before I updated the app, I only had a handful of toneprints.

I just updated AGAIN, two days after the initial download and update, and low and behold, they changed the look of the app, icons, etc. I now have even more toneprints as well, but there are still maybe 1-2 in each category that I'm still missing. Does Google review private APPs and updates like Apple does, if so, if may take a while for the new update to be available for downloading even though they have them listed on the site.

Exactly what was your process for updating?

Thanks!

oddly enough, I never thought of buying another one, but now I am:bassist:

currently, mine runs the spectracomp 98% of the time. I use mine as more of a home/small gig amp and usually run my 4x10 during practice.

I also keep forgetting to pickup a splitter- want to run the 250 as the "clean" amp with the stack running my pedals:p

as an aside- does anyone have a problem running "the beast" distortion? Mine never seems to "take" to the amp from my phone

The BG250 does not have a direct out, only the XLR out. I'm told it CAN be done by running the XLR with a 1/4-inch adapter or plug into the input of the second BG250 but that it could fry the second amp, so I'm hesitant to do that route.

Tech support said I could definitely use the Corona Chorus unit I will be getting, but first I have to wait until I get the BG250 then send out the rebate form and then wait up to 10 weeks, so I am trying to find something I can use in the interim that is both servicable and fairly cheap because I won't need it after I get the Corona.

Worse comes to worse I do have the cheap regular mono Y plug but I know that will degrade the signal, onlu question is, how much will it impair the sound.

The XLR is a direct out but yes you'd need an XLR to 1/4" male adapter. Why would that fry the amp? It's a low level output.

Sure, these are the steps I took to install and update the TC Electronics Toneprint App for Android.

1.) Turn wifi or 3g/4g ON on the phone. I downloaded and installed the Toneprint app via google play on my android phone
2.) I ran the app on my phone and hit the square button on my phone(yours may be different) and this brought up the 'settings' screen. Under that you can 'search for updates' or 'rate this app'. I chose, 'search for updates'. Then a screen pops up asking 'search for updates', 'yes' or 'no'. I chose 'yes'. Another screen pops up which says 'Updating Toneprints' with a 0-100% downloading progress bar. Once it was finished, I restarted the app, and everything was updated with more toneprints.

When I updated again today, I received a few more new toneprints than just 2 days ago when I updated, also the look was also a little different. There is now a BG250 and a BH250 section. Many of the icons look different as well.

I know some of this may be redundant, but I just wanted to be specific as possible. Hope this helps. ;)

I read it somewhere online but I was thinking the same thought, that it is not a powered signal. I will send the question to TCE support and see what they say. that would be yet another option I guess.

I'll be curious to hear what they have to say Ralph. Please post their response if you would. It's the same signal that would be sent to a mixing board or direct to a powered sub.

I've been running a line direct to a powered cabinet or bass amp as a personal bass monitor for a drummer for years and we've never blown an amp up yet.
