TC Electronic BG250 Club

If you read through some of the previous posts you'll see where a few of us have asked the same thing. The crossover for the tweeter is set quite high so there's a good chance your bass may not producing a lot of output in that range.
I'd say it's just part of the design of the EQ module in the amp. The tweeter is not producing any output until there are frequencies in it's range to produce. Below that it's silent.
To make certain that it's working normally I'll pass along what their support staff suggested to me. Plug an MP3 player, IPod, or you computer into the auxiliary input, dime the treble and play some recorded music. If the tweeter is working normally you'll hear the output.
Support guy emailed me and said that he would definitely not advise using the XLR direct into the input of the second BG250. He didn't say why. He suggested either an ABY box or using the XLR cable but then sending it to a DI box and THEN sending it to the second BG250

good for you. Delaware has no sales tax. I had to pay about $22 or so here in New York state. btw, mine came thru UPS about a hour ago. It's still in the box. Will test it tomorrow.
How do you plan to connect the two together?
I got mine for the $324 price, plus NYS tax. Still a pretty good deal for this amp!
I gigged with it last night. I ran through the house, but it was great onstage. I had gain at 5, and I don't think I had the master past about 4. Great tone, too! I ran an FDeck HPF-Pre v.2 between my P-Bass and the amp and that tightened up the sound nicely but left some low end girth. I had mids just past noon & highs down a little under noon. Tubedrive was around 3-4, and I had the Spectracomp at about 3 or so. Damn fine amp!

To a music Industry manufacturer, a TEC Award nomination is equivalent to an Oscar nomination to an actor, or a Grammy nomination to a musician.
The TEC Awards are handed out every year at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, and we will be there with our fingers crossed, hoping to add another TEC Award to the collection - this time for our BG250 Bass Combo.
The TEC Awards are given for 'Outstanding Technical Achievement'. Whether BG250 was chosen as a candidate because of the innovative TonePrint concept, or the the combination of low weight and high power is unknown, but regardless, we are proud to have been nominated. Wish us luck!

Funny that he wouldn't give his reasons. I've not done it with this amp obviously but I have done it in the past running from the balanced out of a Carvin Pro Bass head into a second amp as a monitor for the drummer. Worked just fine then.
Maybe the signal output isn't high enough to run direct. I know using a DI box in the chain will work and have done that before as well so if that's what TCE suggests best follow that advice or use the A/B/Y approach.

however, I got the second BG250 yesterday and I just connected them thru a simple Y adapter into the output of a very old DOD 10-band EQ pedal ... and they seem to work perfectly.
I've only played them at apartment-friendly volume but there is no hum or anything and the volume seems very good (actually very loud) I really like the sound of the two 15s plus the fact I can run the SpectraComp on one unit and something else on the other; right now it's the Classic Chorus that came as the defunct setting but the two together sound very, very good, very warm with the chorus.
I know this is not an ideal setup and I have yet to test them at full volume. I made sure that both amps were plugged into the same power strip which was plugged by itself into a socket.
+1. It's a very good drive emulator... from the little bit I've messed with cranking it, it gives you more grind/distortion the harder you dig into the strings. If that's the case (and I'm not positive that it is), then it's a very well designed effect indeed!
