Just got it, and am beyond stoked! The toneprint thing is awesome, got the Duff Chorus on it, and it is VERY useable, probably most useable chorus I have ever played.
Love the TUBETONE- adds just the right warm growl to my tone with my P-bass.
Am honestly thinking of selling my other gear and just using this as my practice and gig amp (with a DI box for a backup)
Have ordered the footswitch so I can switch during gigs. ABed it against my aguilar TH500 setup, and frankly while the tone is a little better out of the Ag- it is not significantly better, and the BG250 can get many more different sounds.

The toneprints work perfect thru my Mac- just plug the cord right in the back and then into the amp and install, not sure how they do on PCs. Since I don't have a "fancys schmancy" "smart" phone.
Same here, although I had trouble at first. For me, I had to drag the Toneprint apps from the disk image to my hard drive before they'd play nicely with the amp.
Not that I'm aware of. There isn't a TCE envelope filter pedal that's toneprint enabled, either. I wouldn't be surprised to see one developed, though.
Yeah, that Flange Da Funk does a decent approximation of that, but a real envelope filter would be cool...
Okay so, I received a BG-250 the day of a gig last week. Took it out of the box, loaded it into a van, went to the gig and played. After rehearsing through an Ampeg Micro VR my first reaction was WOW! Big warm sound and it was loud enough at median volumes to be asked to turn it down during sound check. Half way through the gig I wished I'd left it where it was as it seemed that it was being drowned out by the keyboard & guitar on my side of the stage. The audience/musicians that I spoke to after the gig said it sounded fine so, who knows?
Today I finally had the chance to bring it into my office and hook it up to my computer. There are some cool TonePrint effects. I agree that Comp in the Middle works great with a P-bass. Coulda used some of that extra punch on the gig. Even though the deciding factor to get the BG-250 over the BH-250 and a 210 cab was the TubeDrive option I have to say that I'm not all that impressed with the TonePrint operation. I don't know how many times it crashed while trying out various effects. That and its all but useless on my iPhone 4 running OS6. There really isn't anything there to choose from. One lame Octave and no Compressors and, yes, its the latest version. Has anyone noticed that the MP3 links posted above open to a dead page? TC ***? Its a nice gimmick bit at this point in time that's really all it is. I was thinking that they had made it so you could only use only one effect at a time so that you'd have to buy the rest of the effects if you liked them but I don't see any pedals - comps, octaves - for sale so I really don't get the point.
One question, has anyone run their bass into one of these using the EWS Tri-Logic 2? I assume these things can handle some power coming into them but want to make sure before I blow something up.

Hey Howlin, there are 7 Toneprint enabled pedals that TCE manufactures. You just need to find a distributor that sells them. I've had trouble, at times, changing the toneprints using both avenues. There are LOTS of options, though.
I can't wait to try this thing out on my next gig, but am thinking it will do real well volume wise.

Since I have two units I put the chorus on one and the comp on the other. Actually I think I have switched to the Comp in the Middle over the Spectra Comp cause I like the smoothness of the bass but that's up to you.
If I had to chose one effect it would be a compressor but the chorus on low settings does fatten up the tone.
I'm in the same boat, almost. I use spectracomp and dimed tubetone on one and chorus on the other. When I just had one, I ran the spectracomp and tubetone dimed.
For those of you that have 2 of them...have you gigged with them yet? Do you place them sideways for access to the controls? I'm curious, I think having two of these would make an incredible, inexpensive, portable, lightweight, do-it-all system that costs half the price of one single boutique cab. I absolutely love the way this amp sounds at home. At the gig, my upper mids get buried, Im not sure if its just the nature of the cab, or if it's the fact that its shooting at my feet. Once the band gets going, it takes on more of a sub and low mid tone no matter how much tweaking I do. I think having one cab closer to ear level would really shine in a loud band situation. So far, this cab can keep up with my loud band. I'm seriously SHOCKED how loud, and how much low end this cab can bring to the table. If you would have told me that a 250watt 1x15 cab could get this loud and have so much authority, I'd would have never believed it! It's a keeper!
I have not gigged with both of them but I will Saturday and will let you folks know how it went. I did play a gig with one recently and I had it elevated on the lowest rung of a regular amp stand. Also I was standing on the floor and the amp and stand was on a raised stage. It sounded very good and I was asked to turn down once but I went too far and was asked to turn it up.
I will be playing on the floor with no stage so I think I will place one unit on the floor for max bass response and elevate the other on the amp stand for punch. I may try to place them on their sides but I'm concerned that the thin Tolex covering may rip so that would be Plan C. Plan B would be, of course, just to have both on the floor.
As for the high mids that could well just be the limits of the speakers. No 10s.
I haven't gigged them, yet. I'm still in the writing process with my new band. We're loud and one had no trouble keeping up. Last practice I set both masters at 8 and it shook the whole damn room! I couldn't help myself.
I play metal, more or less, with a hard hitting drummer. At rehersal I usually play with the master set at 5 and it's plenty loud. I have to be careful not to drownd out the guitarist.
