TC Electronic Plethora X5

1) Is the tuner similar to Politune as quality?
2) Does it support 3rd party IR?
3) Is it (or better the X3 but I think it is the same) suitable for bass? I read on the TC website they speak of guitar only (considering I don't know the tonepront funtions I'm quite scared about this)
4) speaker simulator is a guitar speaker or is it possible to choose even a bass speaker simulation?

Hello X3/X5 owners! I've read all the many threads on this pedal — lot's of good ideas to improve it! :) — but how do current owners feel about it? How is the sound? And how is th UI/UX ergonomics?

I should clarify that I don't need a lot of the stuff that people are complaining is missing, but want this for Sub-n-up, chorus/mod, and maybe a delay/reverb as it will be paired with my Cali 76 and Sadowsky preamp.

Thanks!

Posted first on the X3 thread, but posting here in hopes someone sees it. I read from a couple Plethora users that the tuner doesn't really work with anything lower than the E string on bass, has this been fixed with recent firmware updates?

I just bought the X3 and I'm using it in the FX loop of my recently purchased Markbass Tube Preamp pedal.
I'll have to say the X3 works extremely well with the MB preamp and sounds excellent.... much better than the separate Holy Grail reverb and the, pick one.. EBS Unichorus, Walrus Fundamental, or Boss CEB-3 Chorus pedals that I've been using, but not thrilled with.
With the X3 I'm getting zero noise and studio quality performance out of my pedalboard, the X3 tone prints sound great and work well for my needs. I paid $350 for it and 3 good quality pedals cost at least that much. You just have to remember the X3 is designed to be a versatile effects unit not a total pedalboard solution. I use a compressor (either a Hagerman tube, Airchild 660 or JHS Whitey Thghty) in the front of my MB preamp pedal and a BBE Sonic Stomp Pro on the output into a tube direct box. Now, I can get practically any sound or tone that I need and for the first time I'm totally pleased with a pedalboard.
