TC Electronic Preamp pedal!

Hullo, I have the lovely TC Electronic BH250, but I hate lugging cabs around. Most of the venues I play either have PA support and monitors or a bass amp with an effects return. Sooo, I was thinking that it would be great to have the preamp section of TC's BH heads stuffed into a DI pedal. I mocked something up. What do you think? Would you be interested in something like that? Have I left something out?

That would actually be very awesome! As with my TC amp, the only thing it lacks is sweepable mids. But that would make a great preamp pedal, especially with the Toneprints.

I just sent it to them. I am not an electrical/electronic engineer, but I can't imagine it would terribly difficult to implement. I mean, once you get rid of the capacitors and transformers there should be practically nothing left inside the BH250!

Given the TP and the tuner function, and then a headphone amp!? I would buy this for home use for sure and possible board use! What a great idea. Kudos to you OP. I also really like Frets idea of the sweepable mids. This could be a homerun for TC

Interesting that you mention that. For the vast majority of my gigs, all I need is a compressor and drive. So, if I had this, I would put SpectraComp in one of the TonePrint slots, and a comp+drive combination in the other. But it would be nice to have the SpectraComp and TubeTone switches usable at the same time, as in the RH heads.

All of that would be nice, but for my needs, just the SpectraComp in an MXR sized box would be magic. I love the baked-in voicing of that comp more than any other that I've tried, which includes some heavy hitters in the compression world. It's a fantastic circuit.

So simple, so right, something like this, even a 1590a enclosure.

What I really want is these ideas
A) An amp with eq presets AND Toneprints.
B) a pedal that's just a blank 3-5 button footswitch that you can load 3-5 toneprints into.

Hey, by the way, the new software update for BH amps, available today, implements the foot switch arrangement I've shown in my mock up for the BH250. Previously the three switches were mute / TonePrint on-off / TonePrint 1-2 toggle. Now it's much more sensible: TonePrint 1 / TonePrint 2 / Mute. Much appreciated, TC!

I'd be all over that! Was only thinking the other day that TC need to add a bass pre amp pedal in their line up.

I wish they'd offer the OPs Toneprint preamp pedal. Maybe with a 4th footswitch for selectable pre or post boost! I've got the Mk-1 BG250 combo which isn't compatible with the latest software update.
