TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread

I let the bass-player from the other band we did a gig with on the 4th use the RH450 system for his set.
He was playing a Modulus 5 string & the low-B really kicked butt.
He was Very impressed with it.
Sounded great out in front..

I'm sorry I did not read through all the pages here, but I would just like to share my short experience. I got to try this amp in a music store in Germany, and it was less than I expected. From what I read here, the sounds take a while to find. Since I did not have much time to play around, that might have been the issue.

I tried starting with flat settings and the amp sounded cheap and sterile. Quick playing around with EQ knobs did not help much. One of my biggest hopes for this amp was the tube emulator (I like the tube sound, but don't like to drag these heavy amps along while taking extra care not to damage the tubes somehow). This also was a disappointment to me and sounded like what I was expecting from a digital bass drive pedal.

When I plugged in the Markbass LMII after that, it sounded very good to me even when almost flat.

So I think this is probably just my taste, but the RH450 did not sound half of what I hoped it would. I really like the integration of tuner and compressor though, so I think they are at the right track.

BTW the testing gear was Musicman Stingray 5 with a Markbass cab.

Just got one of these in the mail today, can't wait to go downstairs and try it out! One question, has anyone found a place to buy the gig bag? I sent a note to TC and their response was no helpful, basically told me they couldn't track who might have one and to call around. Great! So, anybody found one? Also, how about cabinet covers? Thanks!!

I have yet to find anyone who carries the gig bags at all, esp in the US.

I've got an iGig gig bag where it fits in the front pocket. More transport than protection.

There are gig bags for other TC items that fit the Head very well. I guess you would just have to research it.

I was in Bass Northwest today checking out the Rh 450.Very cool amp.They had a couple of TC bags in stock.Not sure about the price but the bags looked good and were well made.

FYI - Bass Northwest does, in fact, stock the RH450 gig bag. I ordered one today, it will be here Friday. They said it's a great bag, very well made. I will let everyone know what I think when it gets here.

Sorry, I was a bit slow on this one. I see that you found Bass Northwest already. It is really hard for us to know exactly what dealer carries the bags, however, any dealer that carries the amp and cabs can always order the cabinet covers and bag of course.

well, TC's next marketing building block is to assemble an influential roster of endorsing artist. TC certainly can afford them, poor Tecamp didnt stand a chance here.....

to me, that's no endorsement of one over the other, it's just business.....

Unfortunately he got hosed in the FOH mix and his tone didn't really cut through. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the rig. The room they were playing is an infamously bad room for bass. He is not the first great bass player I've seen get lost in the mix there....
