TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread

Got the RH 450 this week and tried it at a rehearsal.

It is going back to the shop as I simply find that the TubeTone is more less an overdrive and did not add the warmth I was looking for. As well, I did not like the compressor that much and was hard to adjust to get a good even tone to my taste.

It seemed well built but it does not hold up to the MarkBass products in my humble opinion with the warmth. I cannot get away from the two filters of the MarkBass ( VLE and VPF ).

I am leaning towards another MarkBass head at the moment.

I will definitely do that! I played this rig for about 45 minutes a month or so ago, and it sounded very warm. To me, the heads sounds very "tubey" as it is - add in a slight touch of "tubetone" and you are getting some very hip sounds...

I'll post more when it comes in!!!

The amp's owner, 'mcnach', has gigs coming up.

Besides, I imagine that tc will want to do a post mortem ASAP on this now dead RH450 to find out what went wrong.

I am "mcnach", I just thought I'd give a brief update:

Amp dies Saturday night.
I write here and to TCE support on Sunday afternoon/evening.
Monday morning TCE gets in touch with me.
Monday afternoon a new RH450 has been sent to my local dealer, from Denmark to the UK. The dealer had sold all stock at the weekend.
Wednesday (today) I have my brand new replacement in my hands. Hassle free.

I'm still curious as to what went wrong. I hope they tell me.
