Musicgroup1 is the ebay seller arm of Behringer/Turbosound/etc.. i have bought a few mixers and 2 Turbosound IP1000 speaker systems from them. They are top notch and most of the time you are getting a new or next to new piece. If they are refurbs, it is refurbed by the manuafacturer because Musicgroup1 is a part of Behringer/Turbosound...

Yep this Behringer Exciter I got was sealed up tight. Obviously brand spanking new. Definitely an Ebay seller to follow and monitor.

Got it this morning. Nice cab, great price. Nothing indicates that it's a refurb. Sounds good paired with my Avatar 2x10. The only thing I can complain about is its lack of feet (I can add but hate to drill holes in a new cab) and the finish. It looks rugged but it is a dirt magnet.

I gigged mine standing on top of my Avatar 210 laid flat last night. It sounded phenomenal (way overkill for the club but wow it was a full sound). Doing that got the 2 12s up close to ear level.

We've all heard the warnings against mixing drivers, but I had no issues pairing the 212 with the 210. I was running wireless so got to roam the venue while playing to check out the room sound.

that little 2x12 ripped. SHOULDA bought 2 for outside work. I also was using their new BQ 500 head. It's as close to buying an ICE amp..with tone controls/DI. I got it for $212 new from pro audio star. This behringer thing might be good after all. so on the way home last night I was thinking (must stop that!) One could have two bq 500 heads/1000 watts, and four 2x12's (stax!) for around $1200 (if they kept selling them for $210 each/sale) and change. 8 12's in a completely modular system.

Based on this thread, I impulse bought two of these at $240 shipped each. Now, while they didn't end up working for me....it all worked out, read on.

My main complaint with the cabs are.....they just sound bad to my ears, or at least what I am used to. A Schroeder 1212L, which is admittedly colored as well. The TC cabs sound muffled. When boosting high end on the bass itself to try to get a little cut, when it finally started sounding clear, it was introducing all kinds of unwanted sounds and clicks. My other complaint is no feet of any kind. The finish on these scrapes up and looks bad if you look at it sideways. Let alone park one side directly on the floor and the other side another cab sanding each other to death.

So today I got the brilliant idea to hey....why not load them in the car and drive an hour to guitar center to see what they will offer me. I did. Man it was busy in there today. Yngwie would be blushing at some of the sounds in there. Took an hour, but they gave me $450 for the two cabs I was 480 shipped into. Left quite happy.

^^ that's pretty cool. i did not like the 1212l that i had, and quickly flipped it. to me, it lacked 'depth' in the sound, and it also turned certain notes into 'wolf tones' so much so that i was actually altering the way way i struck certain notes while playing. i get a much more 'neutral' sound from the rs212, and i like that.

There is a mid bump with the Schroeder cabs for sure. Lends to perceived stage volume, much like I have read these do as well. The highs on the cab were very unpleasing to my ears and cranking the highs just brought out all the bad noises that come with it. I'm sure someone who likes a more vintage sound would like these more.
