Has anyone had any experience using this pedal for bass? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
It's a relatively new model I think so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how it might sound. I'm looking for something that will go great with my Boss OC-3 for some dirty sub/synth type tones (I can't afford a Zvex Wooly Mammoth!)

I have a feeling this will get you the tone you want with your octave. I just bought one at Guitar Center for 50 bucks and I plan to use it for sabotage and gratitude by the Beastie Boys. I have used big muffs and a variety of other brands this Rusty fuzz is a keeper for $50 I think it'll make you very happy.

My store in syracuse ny had them. They are relatively new.

So I used my rusty with my digitech octave and I have to say it's a great combo!

OK I picked up a Rusty Fuzz on a whim cause it's $50... I really, really like the sound and character of the fuzz! It's like exactly what I would want in a sort-of-gated fuzz sound. But I think I'm going to take it back; maybe it's just this one, but I get almost no variation in sound from zero to dimed on the fuzz knob, and there seems to be a weird, ducking (quick volume dips) sound that hits at completely random and arbitrary times. So it's either designed that way or it's broken. Neither is optimal.

EDIT: also wanted to mention that the footswitch activates when you take your foot OFF. Like a Bouncing Betty, I guess. That's odd.

Spanking a dead thread here, but I recently got the Rusty Fuzz and though I love the sound of it, I'm getting a weird effect especially when I'm letting a deeper tone like open E or an F, F#, G etc ring out.

It's like the fuzz sound start off as a bit muffled and then half a second later opens up in a more brighter way(?)

Anyone know what that's about?

I've been kinda rough on the footswitch since it's a soft switch and I forget that constantly... but just thumb-pressed.. (if this even could've altered it)

Otherwise I always have it first in the chain since it's by far my crankiest fuzz in that sense...

Any ideas? :)

I could be wrong but if it does the “bloom” thing it’s probably getting too hot a signal and the first part of the sound is too compressed then acts normal? I used to get this with lots of fuzzes not designed for active basses (Devi ever fuzz, wooly mammoth etc) - I thought most fuzzes these days were ok but this could be the issue. If so not much rectified it for me (not even lowering volume on bass etc ) :( hope you have some luck

Sounds about right! The bass is passive however :) But then it's probably a normal thing, it sounds great on guitar tho! I'll just use the Donner Fuzz Seeker for the bass, that thing is lit! Thanks a lot for the response mate!
