That sucks. Hopefully someone will chime in with an idea . I don’t think there is an accessible fuse or anything. Clean power going to it, I assume? I had that happen with a fender but found it was a bad circuit at home causing it.

Yup clean with the preamp light barely clipping. Although I normally do not run my pedal board in front of the amp so I’m thinking it might have had something to do with that, not really sure? And yes if anyone else had the same issue please chime in?

Have you had a chance to confirm that you're still having the issue you described... you know, away from the venue and situation where it occurred and in a more controlled environment? Also, if you are still having the problem, it would be worth at least trying the old trick of jumpering the effects send and return jacks together to bypass the switching jack contacts.

Yeah I tried it yesterday real quick and it fired up ok but I didn’t have a chance to push it for a long period.I’ll definitely try again after the weekend and see if it starts acting up again? Thanks

I’ve had as simple as bad cables give intermittent volume attenuation.

Unless you can reproduce the issue with bass into amp with a single cable it can be something in your signal chain.

I know my eyesight is getting progressively worse day by day, but I'm pretty sure the tc electronics BQ500 doesn't have any effects send and return jacks!

You're right, of course. I have no use for them and don't pay much attention to them-- and I actually have a (B)BQ 500.

I bought their BG-250 combo bass amp brand new several years ago. It had a software "Tone Print" effects simulation feature that never worked at all in my amp. I went to their website (the navigation of which was anything but intuitive) and went through the procedures recommended there to no avail. Then I wasted quite a bit of time going 'round and 'round with their customer service line but they didn't seem to know their product very well and were never able to resolve the issue. They sounded annoyed that I was "bothering them" with "my problem". There was no "next tier help", so their attitude seemed to be, "oh well, guess you're SOL, buddy". Since their ads were touting this feature as a major selling point at the time, I thought that was pretty shoddy treatment. Based on that experience, I'll never buy anything else from them.
