Behringer is stepping up their game. They have been. They just have that allure of past practices and stuff allegedly blowing up at random. Something I have never seen or experienced. I've seen more 'name' brand gear bite the dust. Can they improve on some things? Sure! Just like any other company. Stop being gear snobs. This may be a good thing.
It was a joke. Speaking of which, hopefully my pre-Behringer TC tuner just went up in value
Agreed. I've never had a Behringer piece fail. I started using them back when the Composer compressor was not made in China. As I recall, it was also close to $300ea, at dealer cost. I'm eyeing the Veyron head, as well as the XR18 mixer. Their stuff seems solid. I cruise, often. I've seen and heard several of the X32 mixers on several Carnival ships. I've spoken with the sound techs onboard. No failures. That's generator power, constant movement, and salty, humid air. They've upped their game.
I don't know man...a guy I know who rents and runs sound gear carries 3 of those X32 digital boards Behringer makes because they keep breaking down on him on a regular basis. He's had to change out the board on a show he ran for us, too. I asked him why he didn't just buy one Yamaha LS-9. He says, "3 Behringer boards are still cheaper than one LS-9." OK, but that's a lot of money on repair costs once they're out of warranty. My buddy with the LS-9 has two, got them when they first came out, and he hasn't resorted to the backup even once yet.
It seems like nothing good ever comes from these acquisitions. I think we all have our "pet" companies that have gone the way of the dodo after a buyout. Of course it's wait and see, I was considering a TC chorus pedal so maybe I should get it so it's worth more.
So, I wonder if that means that my RH450 head will become a collector's item? I guess I'll find out in a few years! LOL

Define fail? I tried one of their kickback clones years ago and it didn't come close to making good tone or the big power numbers emblazoned on the front (and yes I get that those are peak but really? TE never did that and now 'Trace' watts are almost a separate power benchmark). That to me is an epic FAIL.
I think this is too bad, but then I've never understood TB's hate-on for TC. I get that people here feel mislead by the way they name their amps (even though they never really hid the actual power output) and I agree the naming should have been altogether different if not reflecting the actual power output... but all that aside, their pedals rock (I own one and used to own another), the toneprints are pretty cool, and Mike Watt sounds incredible through his TC amp.
I don't have much hands-on with Behringer, but my 7-band EQ pedal from them works (it's just made out of cheap plastic) but hey - it was also less than a third of the price of other 7-band EQs doing the same job in a stronger metal enclosure.

I think it's probably because most people don't like being lied to in order to get them to part with their money. Call me crazy...
That said, I own one of their tuners now and it's darn nice
And I nearly bought a Spark Mini pedal that was also really nice but suffered from a tiny midscoop, so I ended up getting something else.
What I'm hoping is this will put TC gear on massive close out like the GB stuff did.

TC did hide the actual power output. It was not until AFTER they were called on it they offered real information.
IMO Mesa lost a lot of good guy points when they derated the M9's wattage to keep them from burning out without notifying owners.
Lies and deception is sadly expected from politicians, I don't think consumer goods should. YMMV.

Well I didn't realize they lied until @B-string posted this later:
... so if that's true I now understand and agree; regarding their amps anyway (I still love a few of their pedals).

Yamaha's a great company. They may not make the absolute very best stuff on the market, but everything they make is done very well, it usually works, and they don't BS. Those TF boards looks super sweet, BTW.
I, for one, hope this bodes well for TCE. I like their products and liked what they were doing. This likely will mean that I can acquire a bunch of stuff now for pennies on the dollar knowing the Behringer name will bring down their value.
On the other hand, maybe I should sell now before anyone finds out about it...
