TC RH750 part II

TC sent me new knobs upon request through the support links on their website, and sent me a couple extras as well, with no trouble whatsoever. The replacements did feel slightly different in heft or texture or something. The difference is subtle, but noticeable. I swapped them all out and had no issues at all with them falling off in my gig bag or disappearing ever since.

Sadly, I have mine up for sale. I really like it, especially the features, utility, and functionality, but I'm at the "too much gear" part of the endless cycle, so some stuff has to go.

Contact TCE, and they will send you a new set of knobs.

Glad to know they have redesigned the knobs. I bought my RH450 used, and it had damaged knobs. They would fall off just by looking at them funny.
TC Electronic was happy to send me a new set, and they said that earlier versions had been made from brittle plastic (which made the little "fins" prone to breaking). The new set they sent me was a softer plastic, that def doesn't feel brittle.

Upon seeing this picture I got curious which knobs they had sent me. Pulled off my treble knob, and indeed it's the older one on the left. But when I went to put the knob back on, it no longer "stuck" on firmly. Then I noticed that the two "fins" that friction fit against the flat side of the pot shaft were bent.
The newer, softer plastic seems to "fail" by bending instead of just breaking off.

If/when I ask them for a new set of knobs, I'm hoping they send the redesigned ones pictured on the right...

After what seems like a lifetime of research, an endless list of requirements, showroom testing, YouTube-ing, financial jiggery-pokery and a delicately worded discussion with the wifey, I am pleased to announce that I've ordered myself an RH750 with a pair of RS112. Sad thing is, the head is due to arrive a week after the cabs. :(

Feeling kinda giddy with anticipation.

Ooh yeah, look what turned up today :D

Sad thing is, I don't have a head to plug into these (yet). It's gonna be a long week before the RH750 arrives. Couldn't find a shop in the UK with these in-stock. Which is a sad state of affairs.

Guess I can keep myself busy reading through the old posts on this thread.

I'm amazed the love for the TC Electronics RH750 appears to have dwindled so much. Did the numbers thing really cripple the interest in these so much?

Alright! RH750 arrived. I'm in the honeymoon phase so everything about it sounds amazing through this pair of RS112. We'll see how things go once I've had a few weeks and gigged it.

This thing is LOUD with a capital L. I daren't turn the volume above 10 o'clock in the house. 9 O'clock is perfect for home practice. Can't wait to get it somewhere I can dial it up. Ok, ok,I confess... I did turn it up to 12 and shook the foundations a bit. Think the neighbours know I'm a bassist now. :D

The definition is phenomenal. tone flexibility seems endless. Love these semi parabolic EQs.

The compressor seems really tight so I'm gonna ditch this boss pedal.

Tube tone seems pretty good when dialled in subtley. Although I'm going to get the Billy Sheehan pedal in a few months cause that thing blows my mind. Tubetone will do in the meantime.

Right I'm off to play, see you in a few days :D

Still using mine. No problems with it for years of occasional gigging and rehearsal. (Except new plastic knobs that TC sent me to replace the old type.)
Versatile as heck, and always loud enough. Using it with Barefaced BBII 1x12 cab.
GAS hits me ever so often, but I can't seem to find a good reason to spend the money for something else that may or may not be more or less practical or better sounding (Currently considering Ampeg V-4b and Mesa WD-800) .

Look at this thread resurrection! I have to say, similar to you, @BassBuzzRS, I've tried many over the past several years and just keep gigging my RH750. I did another comparison a month ago and it re-solidified it as my tried and true #1 gigging amp. I like the clean power of the Quilter and I do really love the sound of the Genzler (I've since sold the GK MB Fusion 500) but the coupling of the parametric EQ, the built-in Spectracomp, tuner, and super clean DI, nothing can beat it (yet) for my live rig. I'm running it through either a single RS210 or RS212.

After 5 years only 1 of my amps is comparable to the RH750 and that is the Genz Benz Streamliner.

While I really do like my GK 700rb II, TC BH800, GB NEO PAK and Genzler Magellan 800, the RH750 and Streamliner are absolutely my favorites.

I was actually playing around with them on Saturday.

And my new knobs are going on about 3 years with no problems.

Hi everyone.
I don't know if some wil find it useful but anyway :
I bought a "broken" RH750, meaning that it was missing 2 pot shafts (they broke right at the surface of the pot metal part), thain gain and bass ones, and one of the memo button was split in half (but was still staying there before I idsmounted the amp).
I tried to write to TC and got no answer. I tried to ask via music tribe and still got no answer.

Since I took the amp apart I was able to have a good look at the "pot". I could have expect it but except the master pot al the others are just encoders with 24 clics (called detents). From my research the model is this one :
EC12 Series - Basic information (model EC12E2420803)

I can add some pics if you want. I ordered the part and will report if it fits.

As for the button cap, I found a spanish website that had 10 of them in stock but they were still expensive (about 10€ with postage fees), so I chose to get a cheap used tc nova pedal, I'm pretty sure they are the same than the ones on the RH750, I'll tell you when I get them.

Oh and if someone's looking for info about the parts in this amp, now's the time since mine is taken apart.

Bye !

Good luck with the repairs! I still love my RH450/RS210/RS212 rig. I have replacement knobs and they last great so far.

It turns out the buttons from the tc nova pedals are not compatible. They have the same look and dimensions from the outside of the amp/pedal, but they're not the same depth and connectd differently to the button/led.

I ordered some regular spares from the spanish website (audiosistemas.es), they still have some in stock.

Ok, thanks. I tried to do the same but they redirect you to musictribe, who don't seem to have the same approach, let's say.

I ordered some replacement knobs for my RH750 from Musictribe and I got the impression it's one guy in a garage or something. Very slow engagement and communication was challenged.

Beautiful rig! That will kill with that ray!

A few years later and now I am in the same boat - got a beaten up RH750 and need to replace the broken buttons. No support from TC Electronics anymore so trying to find the spare parts. Do you have a part number or how did you find them Matlevo12?
