Double Bass Tchaikovsky's 5th

I'm playing bass in an orchestra festival that is doing the finale (4th movement) of Tchaikovsky's 5th symphony. I am hoping to get my hands on a recording to listen to, and play along with for practice. After doing a google search and an iTunes search I soon found that there were like a million different orchestras that have played and recorded this symphony. Which one is the best? Is there a certain recording of this that is a classic or is the best? Please help.

Any recording from one of the majors I.e. Boston, cleveland, ect. Should do. Every conductor will have a different interpretation. If you get her in time and in tune with a dragons eye on the conductor, your winning a good part of the battle. Have fun!

While not on iTunes, if you can get Leo Stokowski conducting the New Philharmonia, it'll knock your socks off.

I have looked around and heard many versions - a lot of American conductors take a lot of liberties (!) - but the best recommendation I heard, was for the Mravinsky live recording of 4,5 and 6 with the Leningrad :

I've owned the CD for many years now and it's still the best!
