Teaching myself Piano

... for the most part. I've had some training in school (scales, melodies, the occasional jazz piece) but want to keep going.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good pieces to learn? Dark, ominous, emotive... The kind of tunes you would sit at home playing late at night with a glass of whiskey next to you.

I found one cool piece that I got sheet music for (2nd Movement of Beethoven's Sonata no. 8) if that gives you an idea of what I'm looking for :p
Also, Mikrokosmos is on my list

I know it's gonna be hard, but that's how I've always learned stuff on an instrument: I bite off more than I can chew. haha
