Tech 21 Bass Comp?

Is this pedal a good buy? I have read some reviews about it and people seem to like it but they say it can be noisy. Has anyone here tried it, and if so, did you like it? and is it a good pedal to buy or is there something else I could get instead for a better deal?

The Tech 21 bass comp is an unredeemable piece of junk that is not worth spitting at. Almost anything else would be a better choice. Check the reviews linked in my sig--and don't forget to search in this forum, as there are many hundreds of threads with recommendations.

Are you talking about the bass compactor?

It's good for a couple of decibles of gain, but the compressor past 9:00 sounds like waves crashing.
You can hear the gain swell up after every note amplifying any and all noise, like hiss ect...

Even at minimal settings, the signal is very limited, so the comp knob is not even necessary and it only adds noise to the signal.
That being said, It's acctualy a good comp with the knob turned all the way down.

It has ridiculously high levels of compression- so turning the knob past 9 o clock- just gets very noisy- if anything this is the main design fault.
The eq however is excellent and I put it back into my signal after many years quite recently as it stops my actives from sounding too sterile. With hindsight I would have spent my money on something else.
